Andy Alvarez, Colombian-Canadian, is an award-winning multi-hyphenate storyteller. Her short film "La Mariposa", based on her personal story of growing up as an immigrant in Canada, won a Leo Award in 2018.  Since then, she has written and directed "Our Home", garnering awards from Hot Docs Film Festival and the Wilson Oakville Film Festival in 2019. She also co-wrote and directed; "Sol", which was in the top 6 of the Crazy 8s film competition in 2020. It has since had its world premiere at the New York Children’s International Film Festival. She is one of the Co-founders of the Vancouver-based Studio 104 Entertainment Inc. She is currently in pre-production for her first narrative feature, "Memoria", set to begin production in early 2024.
